The day started early in the morning. When I write early, I don’t mean 10AM as I would normally say. Early in this case means 4.15AM. Why? You might wonder? Because we...

We woke up at 7 o’clock and ate a fantastic breakfast for the last time. Then we took a taxi to the ferry, this time it was a catamaran ferry! And it was okay to stand at the front of the ferry...
Four people in the same room with different sleep patterns demands mutual adaptation. I tiptoe out on the terrace at 6 o'clock to swim and read the day's mails (6 am here is 5 pm in ...
Close your eyes and imagine: Silence except the sound of bubbles rising. Weightlessness. Calmness. The water 25 degrees of Celsius and it surrounds you. Incredible beauty all the way around you. Endless amounts of beautiful fish species and corals wherever you look.
Wednesday it was really warm and that was annoying because the pool was closed. But at the same time we cannot complain when it is so cold in Denmark.
Not at all. Bu we were a little sad when we found the hotel manager's letter in the room: “The pool needs to be repaired. Unfortunately, it closes today at 5 pm for four weeks ”. We had just extended our stay ...
We are finding the rhythm, and also the understanding. We have not just gone on a 14 day vacation, but instead a 3 month voyage. A journey for the family, a journey with the family. A journey where we are together almost 24/7...
So to be honest there’s not much to write about. I didn’t know how to start the blog today, since we mainly relaxed all day...
French Polynesia is far out in the Pacific Ocean. Like I wrote earlier, the islands were originally inhabited by cannibals. It is believed that the original Polynesians sailed to Polynesia from South East Asia. It took a long time before...

I have always had a longing for travel. For as long as I can remember I have had a dream about traveling the world for 6 months with my family.
Divorce, career and other things have always pushed the dream aside.
We always traveled a lot with the children. We spent several hours in the car dragging our caravan to numerous places and also traveled by plane both near and far. Experiencing together is what gives unity, strength and a common frame of reference for our family.
I’m the planner. I research TripAdvisor, travel blogs, travel literature and homepages for travel bureaus just to make sure we don’t miss out on the most cozy restaurant, the beautiful viewpoints, the biggest nature experiences or the cultural highlights.
We rarely book a lot in advance since we enjoy the spontaneity. However we come fully prepared so that we can go back home with the feeling of having experienced everything.

My first longer travel abroad was a high school exchange stay in the United States. I developed a taste for traveling and took a job in the UN. I lived in Thailand, Switzerland and Egypt. When I became self employed in my own business I really started traveling. The company had many assignments in the East and in Africa. The best journey of my life was in Japan. I traveled 100 days from north to south with my youngest son Frederic.
I travel for enjoyment. I don’t like to plan too much, but take joy in being surprised and choosing new goals from day to day. I like getting to know a lot of people on the way.

Wifi is essential on the journey. The wifi password is the first thing I ask for at restaurants and hotels. Waiting hours are spent on-line. Being on-line is especially a good companion on long hauls.
Question number 2 after the wifi password. Is: Will there be a swimming pool? This is where I spent most of the day if possible.
When I blog I am writing in both Danish and English. I translate myself as it’s a part of my home work on our journey.

I love the sense of togetherness we have as a family when we are traveling. I cherish the memories we create together.
