Vi havde aftalt at m\u00f8des med Sabine kl 8.30. Sabine og hendes bror er de eneste p\u00e5 \u00f8en, som har tilladelse til at bruge omr\u00e5det p\u00e5 plateauet. Dette er ellers et fredet omr\u00e5de. Hun skulle k\u00f8re med os i vores bil, da hendes egen var g\u00e5et i stykker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turen i bil tager ca 30 minutter, og bringer os fra bugten op i 1000 meters h\u00f8jde. Her er temperaturen behagelige 20 grader celcius. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sabine m\u00e5tte lige forbi derhjemme og hente bukser til os alle, da shorts og ridning ikke er en god kombination. Vores bukser har vi p\u00e6nt sendt til opbevaring indtil hjemrejse til DK om nogle m\u00e5neder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped\"><ul Naturen er gudesmuk. Hestene yderst rolige. Man rider b\u00e5de over halvt \u00f8de sletter &#8211; hvor en skovbrand tidligere h\u00e6rgede, gennem fyrreskov og mere tropisk vegetation. Sabine fort\u00e6ller om stedets historie og sin egen familie, som nok er blandet af flere nationaliteter, men er \u00e6gte Marquesianere. Hun fortalte f.eks. at alle de dyr vi ser p\u00e5 \u00f8en, som vi troede var vilde, har en ejer, og hendes familie ejer de fleste af dyrene. Cheeseburger til b\u00f8rnene, men vi voksne selvf\u00f8lgelig fisk. Is\u00e6r efter morgenens oplevelse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clara gik tilbage til pensionen for at lave lektier, og vi andre havde lavet en aftale med Mai og Maria &#8211; igen ved hj\u00e6lp af turistkontoret, om at sejle os til Hakaui dalen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi gl\u00e6dede os til en tur p\u00e5 havet. N\u00e5r b\u00e5den befandt sig i b\u00f8lgedalen var b\u00f8lgeryggen over hovedh\u00f8jde. Vi blev plask v\u00e5de og m\u00e5tte holde godt fast. Vi m\u00e5 indr\u00f8mme at den voksne bagbes\u00e6tning, alts\u00e5 Jannick og jeg blev tiltagende bekymrede for at k\u00e6ntre. Redningsveste havde vi ikke f\u00e5et udleveret. Vi havde desv\u00e6rre ikke tid til at g\u00e5 hele turen til vandfaldet. Men gik ca 30 min ind og tilbage gennem en lille by med frugttr\u00e6er. Var vi fortsat ville vi have oplevet at vandre mellem de h\u00f8je klipper frem til vandfaldet &#8211; som dog er udt\u00f8rret aktuelt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-tiled-gallery en utrolig dejlig g\u00e5tur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inden vi begyndte tilbageturen i b\u00e5d spurgte Jannick Kaptajn Mai om han havde redningsveste. Heldigvis kunne han finde tre helt nye veste, som vi p\u00e5f\u00f8rte os med gl\u00e6de. Turen f\u00f8ltes pludselig meget mere tryg, trods de faktisk tiltagende h\u00f8je b\u00f8lger. I hvert fald indtil jeg p\u00e5mindede Jannick om hvad der gemmer sig under havets overflade&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tilbage p\u00e5 pensionen var vi helt flade for energi, men fandt alligevel styrke til en farvel Nuku Hiva middag p\u00e5 det lokale pizzaria, som vi har frekventeret mange gange. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\">FAKTA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi lavede en aftale med Sabine via turistkontoret. Prisen er 9000 XPF pr voksen og halv pris pr barn. Turen tager ca tre timer: 1 times k\u00f8rsel, 1 time til hest og en time til det l\u00f8se.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aftalen med Kaptajn Mai kostede 16000 XPF for os tre. Vi huskede drikkepengene for at f\u00e5 os sikkert tilbage! Turen er et must p\u00e5 Nuku Hiva, men vi anbefaler der afs\u00e6ttes tid til det fulde hike, og sejl afsted om morgenen, hvor b\u00f8lgerne er mindre.
